Duncan RABAN

A Lens on Humanity.

Black and white or bleeding colour, Raban’s photos have the same weight as a good song – stays in your ribs.

Born in London and raised in Hong Kong, Duncan Raban discovered photography as his true language early in life. By 24, he was already shooting legends - his first major assignment capturing Pelé in motion, a preview of the extraordinary access that would define his career.

Over four decades, Duncan has photographed some of the most recognisable faces in the world — from The Rolling Stones and Tina Turner to Grace Jones and Lady Gaga. But he is just as drawn to the quiet poetry of everyday people. His belief: everyone has a story, and every story deserves to be seen.

Whether documenting life backstage, on the street, or at home, Duncan’s approach is simple. He listens. He observes. He waits for the moment that feels real. His images are less about performance and more about presence.
